- Windshield Sealant is a one-component polyurethane adhesive-sealer designed for securing windshields where increased safety guarantees are not required.
- Ideal for front, rear, and side windows on cars, vans, railway transport, and special-purpose vehicles.
- Best results are achieved when using an air gun for application.
- Meets the specifications of Loctite TEROSON PU 8597 HMLC.
- Vehicle ready time: 1 hour (FMVSS USA) and 4 hours (European crash test standard).
- Suitable for application on windshield openings made of any material, including aluminum.
- Features high initial hardness and exceptionally strong binding properties, eliminating the need for additional glass fixation.
- Excellent sag resistance, ensuring smooth application.
- Does not string or pull when applying with a tool.
- Fast polymerization process.
- Provides high shear strength and modulus, while maintaining good elasticity over long-term use.
- Very low electrical conductivity, making it safe for automotive electronics.
- Adheres well to residual materials from previous adhesive joints.
- High UV resistance, ensuring durability in sunlight exposure.
- Superior adhesion to glass, ceramic-coated glass, and painted surfaces.
- Meets high European safety standards.
- Thoroughly clean the surfaces to be bonded, removing old glue, paint, coatings, rust, dirt, grease, and oil deposits.
- Degrease the windshield opening using 9691 MANNOL Brake Cleaner, then dry completely.
- Ensure the glass surface is free of damage or defects.
- For optimal adhesion, lightly sand the bonding area with a soft abrasive material.
- After sanding, clean using 9974 MANNOL Glas Cleaner, then allow it to dry for 2 minutes.
- Degrease the glass surface again using 9691 MANNOL Brake Cleaner and dry completely.
- Heat the cartridge to 50-80C for 15 minutes before application.
- Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the bonding points on the glass or directly onto the windshield opening on the body.
- Start applying from the lower edge of the glass, ensuring a continuous, gap-free layer.
- Install the windshield in place and press lightly. The glass remains adjustable for 15 minutes.
- Secure the windshield with tape and leave to dry.
- Full polymerization and curing occurs within 24 hours.
- Vehicle is safe to drive after 1 hour, but to prevent displacement and stress that could cause cracks, it is recommended to wait before using the vehicle.
- Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface during the curing process.
- For best results, apply at room temperature and 50-60% humidity.
